LEXICAL TOOLBOX

The Lexical Toolbox is a powerful module within Lexogoth with which both students and teachers of French can work very precisely on lexical combinations and vocabulary that are fully based on authentic corpus data (Lexogoth). This module will be available for Lexogoth International in January 2026.

  1. What are its functionalities?
  • Build, supplement, and practice your own lexical databases with examples
  • Create, take, and export tests Save and export your test results
  • Transfer entries directly from Lexogoth into separate databases

2. Three modules

Module 1: database functions

Create, edit and practice lexical databases with French sentences and their translations.

Module 2: Import and export

Retrieve entries from Lexogoth and process them in a database or export your databases to a text file.

Load your tests and results into a clear, reader-friendly text file.

Module 3: Testing

In this module you can create, edit and take tests with various types of questions.

3. Downloads and manual

Here the user finds the detailed manual and some database and test files with which the user can get started immediately.

  • Examples of databases: download these databases and open them via the Database Functions module of the Toolbox: database on environment, database on the use of sans (soon to be added)
  • Examples of tests: download some example tests to see how you build, edit and take tests: test on concepts related to environment, global warming and energy. The test files (ending in “.lextest”) are opened from the Testing module. (sonn to be added)
  • Lexogoth Toolbox Manual:
